Alanna and Tortall

So I've started this club on DA that is for fans of Tamora Pierce's novels, and I keep encouraging people to make fanart of their favorite characters of her novels. And yet I myself have very few fanart drawings of my own! So last month I threw together this pen sketch of Alanna and decided to watercolor it (since my computer was down and I couldn't use Photoshop).

Actually, I like the watercolor effect better than if I had used Photoshop, I think it worked out pretty good. It's not a particularly polished painting, but hey, it's Alanna fanart, what else do you need?
