Description
These are characters (sort of) of Tamora Pierce's "Immortals" series: Veralidaine (Daine) and the Badger God.
But I've turned them into mermaids! MerDaine and the MerBadger, anyway. I drew them this way as part of my contest at ~LionessRampant for the "World's Collide" contest, in which characters of Tamora Pierce must be collided with another world or book series, and I chose The Little Mermaid. It all made sense in my head, anyway. :-p
This is the moment that the Badger God, Daine's guardian and friend, clipped off one of his silver claws and gave it to Daine to wear around her neck as a pendant. "Hang onto it no matter what," he told her, and it would be a link between the two of them, allowing Daine to contact him in the Realm of the Gods.
